I dread sitting down to figure out what to post this week
Without content pillars tied to positioning, every post feels like starting from scratch. Define your pillars once; ideas flow forever.
This isn't a creativity problem. It's a structure problem. And the fix is surprisingly mechanical.
Why the blank page wins
When you can write about anything, you write about nothing. The infinite possibility space paralyzes you. Should you share a tip? Tell a story? Comment on news? Promote your product?
Each option feels equally valid and equally uninspiring. That's the paradox: more freedom creates more friction.
The angle system
Instead of looking for "ideas," look for angles on themes you've already committed to.
A theme is a broad territory: "why founders struggle to communicate."
An angle is a specific entry point into that territory: "the moment an investor says 'but what does it actually do.'"
One theme produces dozens of angles. Each angle is a piece of content. You never need a new idea. You need a new angle on a proven theme.
A productivity tool founder who stopped struggling
He'd been posting sporadically, whatever came to mind. Some posts about remote work. Some about time management. Some about his product features. No pattern. No momentum.
The fix: He committed to three themes: 1. "Meetings that should have been messages" 2. "What I learned running a 6-person remote team" 3. "Tools I use and why"
From these three themes, he mapped 10 angles each. That gave him 30 pieces of content. At two posts per week, that's nearly four months of material before he needed to brainstorm again.
The angle generation process
Take one theme. Ask:
- What's a common mistake people make here?
- What's a counterintuitive truth?
- What's a story from my experience?
- What's a comparison to something unexpected?
- What would a beginner need to know?
servo defines your themes during the guided session and generates angles you can start posting immediately.
